Hou Jianguo pointed out that, the construction of China-ASEAN Information Harbor is an important measure to implement the State’s “The Belt and Road” initiative and the “three major positioning” of Guangxi endowed by General Secretary Xi Jinping in building an upgraded version of the China-ASEAN free trade zone. He fully acknowledged the important role of CAIH in the construction of China-ASEAN Information Harbor. At present, CAIH has taken rigorous steps and given full play to the location advantages of Guangxi in Internet interconnectivity and information interconnectivity etc., and further enhanced the level of Guangxi in opening up and cooperation with the ASEAN countries. The next phase will require further expansion of cooperation with the ASEAN countries and the building of cross-border land and sea Internet channels connecting China and the ASEAN countries, so that more enterprises and members of the public in the region will share the benefits of the “Information Silk Road”, and the State’s “The Belt and Road” initiative will be further implemented. He emphasized on accelerating the construction of China-ASEAN Information Harbor Nanning core base and the development of cross-border e-commerce, cloud computing and big data and other industries oriented to the ASEAN countries, deepening cooperation with information, winning business opportunities and driving development to continuously enhance the influence of the “Nanning channel”.
